Junior Council
Since the beginning of 2003 the Shire of Mt Marshall has been running a Junior Council. The Council is made up of year seven Students from the Bencubbin and Beacon Primary Schools. The Junior Councillors raise community issues and come up with recommendations that they put to the Shire Council. The Junior Councillors meet once during each school term. The meetings are run like formal Council meetings.
The aim of the Council is to give the youth of the Shire the chance to have their say and put their ideas forward and also to increase the student’s knowledge of Local Government and its roles within the Shire.
