Seniors and Youth Working together to 'Be Active'

The Shire of Mt Marshall has received $6330.50 from Be Active WA to run the Seniors and Youth Working Together to ‘Be Active’ program in the Shire of Mt Marshall.  Students from both the Bencubbin and Beacon Primary Schools and seniors from both communities will be involved in this program.  The program aims to have over one hundred participants who will all take away knowledge and hopefully habits on the benefits of healthy eating and regular physical activity.  The program also encourages a relationship to be formed between the younger and older generations within the community.  The Shire of Mt Marshall is responsible for the facilitation of the program which involves a series of activities that are outlines in this plan to be run with the seniors and school students.  These activities include, healthy eating cooking day, aqua fitness activities, walking the trail and botanical garden and bowls.

The activities will be run throughout the year.  If you are interested in joining in any of the activities please contact the Community and Recreation Development Officer, Rebecca Watson at the Shire of Mt Marshall on 9685 1202.
