The Environmental Resource Centre located on Monger Street in Bencubbin contains a large library of resources that can be used by the community for information and research purposes. This includes books, journals, technical files, information sheets, pamphlets, research papers and maps.
The Shire of Mt Marshall has published a number of documents to assist landholders with the management of natural resources on their land.
In 2003 the Shire of Mt Marshall undertook a local area planning process, where it created a two-stage environmental protection plan and four asset identification and prioritisation documents.
Project Monitoring Handbooks
The Shire of Mt Marshall has produced four project-monitoring handbooks to assist landholders monitor projects they are undertaking on their land. These include:

- Project Monitoring Handbook - Saltland Pastures
- Project Monitoring Handbook - Pumping Projects
- Project Monitoring Handbook - Earthworks Projects

Environmental Protection Plan
The Environmental Protection Plan outlines the management of natural resources within the Shire of Mt Marshall for the coming five (5) years. It sets management goals, strategies and actions to ensure the appropriate management of natural resources for future generations.

Asset Inventories
These asset inventories were created to complement the Environmental Protection Plan. They include four documents focusing on biodiversity, infrastructure, land resources and water assets. These assets have been assessed for value, threat and feasibility. These assets have been prioritised in relation to their scores and the feasibility of long-term maintenance.

Land Capability System
This report outlines a land capability system for the Shire of Mt Marshall area. This system is to be used as a guide only and was formulated using a myriad of information, including, climate, soils, vegetation, geology and topography.
